The Man Whose Trade Was Tricks

Is Shakro more interested in proving he can trick the king, or helping the people of his village?

  1. I think Sharko is more interested in helping the people of his village because his village is poor.

Shakro’s main objective through the story is helping his village out. As you can see on page 27 Shakro wants to help his village with harvest because the people in his village needs him. Shakro said five or six months because harvest might take that long on page 27. You can see on page 29 Shakro needs the wagons and the horses for harvest. On page 30 Sharkro said my dear wife whom I left well and happy yesterday, is dying because he wants to help with harvest.

  2. The reason why I think that is because he wants to make sure the king doesn’t think he is the best
Pg30 My dear wife whom I left well and happy yesterday is dying. You can tell that he wants to trick the king .pg31 I am only a poor man .But I never thought you would do a thing like this to me. Send me home to my sick wife on a horse that changes himself back and forth to a dokey as it suits his pleasure .This evidence supports Shakro wants to trick the king by telling him he sent him home on a donkey\horse . Pg25 I will go, Without my hat and without my cherkasska. Shakro is going to trick the king by saying he forgot his tools for tricking people, his hat, and his cherkasska

  3. Shakro is more interested in helping the people from his village because they need help and he can give help to them.
Shakro wants to help the people from the village. He is tricking the king to get tools for his villages villagers by telling the king he needs tools for tricking people.“Why the tools I use for tricking people.” (pg 27) Shakro uses the tools to help the people from his village get food.“Shakro went home at a fast trot, called all the villagers together, gave them each a horse and wagon, and working side by side they sowed and harvested a crop large enough to last them for ten years.”(pg 29) Here Shakro is helping the villagers have food because he is helpful. Then Shakro used more of his trick to help the village people from his village have at least one GOOD horse because “Each year he took such a heavy rent that no matter how hard the villagers worked when harvest time came, nothing was left for them but the middlings of their own wheat and a few crooked tree stumps.”. (pg 24) So he gives a villager a good horse. “He stayed there long enough to sell the horse for a good price and buy a black donkey.” (pg 30) Here Shakro is letting a villager have a full-blooded black Arabian horse. He is helping a villager. Then he wants to give his villagers more land so they could harvest more. So he says “Give me instead your forest and all the fields around it for my village people to use for their own.” (pg 32) He really does help his village. The end

  4. Helping his village because he did these all nice things for them.
On pg.28 Shakro gave each of his villagers a horse and a wagon then they picked crops to last them ten years. He would not do that if he did not care for them, they did not have any crops for themselves, the crops where all for the king and his kingdome around him. On pg. 30 he sold the horse to one of his villagers. He was very helpful for doing that because they did not have horses because they all belonged to the king and his kingdome. On pg. 32 He said “Give me the forest and all the fields around it.” He did that for his villagers and him he did not do that for just himself they needed crops for food.

  5. He is helping the people of his village because he is being nice and friendly
Pg. 28-29:”Shahkro went home at not a fast trot and called all the villagers together and gave them each a wagon and a horse”. he is helping his people because he gave each one of his people a wagon and horse and they harvested a crop that will last ten years. He is helping the people of is village because he wants his village to have more land and trees he wants them to be able to harvest.” Give me your forest and all the land around it for my people to use” (pg 32)
Shahkro loves and honors his village he loves his village because he challenged a king to help his village and that probley took some thinking “Shahkro went back to his village and in honor he lived there all his life.”(pg 33)

  6. Shakro is more interested in proving he can trick the king because he wants to be a trickster.
Pg. 26 The king said “So you think you’re the trickiest man in my kingdom? “Tricking is my trade” Shakro then answered.
It will support my answer because the king thinks he’s the trickiest and he can’t be tricked by Shakro, but Shakro thinks he can trick the king with a wink of an eye!
Pg. 30 Shakro bent his head and blew very lightly in the dog’s ear. The dog of course in turn licked Shakro’s ear. “This is awful news”
The news of the dog was just a lick in the ear… but Shakro tricked the king and the king didn’t even notice the trick of Shakro. Shakro tricked the king.
You must choose something I never use or otherwise I would miss it. Now what shall it be. Your head!
Shakro did all these tricks to trick the king and he wants to trick the king more. He won the bet and the king had to give him a gift.

  7. Shakro was more interested in helping his people.
I know this from the book because he kept tricking the king because he needed to bring items for his people.
